Commission clears United Environmental Limited to acquire Solvent Services Limited
The Commerce Commission has cleared United Environmental Limited to acquire those assets of Solvent Services Limited which relate to the disposal and recycling of solvents and the supply of recycled solvents.
Commissioner Paula Rebstock said that although the acquisition would result in United Environmental becoming the largest participant in the solvent recycling industry, the Commission was satisfied that other competitors in the industry would provide a constraint on the merged entity.
United is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nuplex Industries Limited. Its services include the identification, handling, collection, treatment, disposals and recycling of waste liquids, plus packaged and bulk materials, chemcicals, oils, greases, solvents and simple organics.
Solvent is a privately owned company which disposes of and recycles solvent waste for customers.
