Key Law Alliance To End

Published: Wed 8 Aug 2001 05:00 PM
A business arrangement offering cut-rate conveyancing to homebuyers is to end.
ANZ Banking Group (NZ) Ltd, Key Law and Public Trust have announced that they have concluded the arrangement under which Key Law, an independent law firm, offers reduced rate conveyancing exclusively to ANZ customers.
Public Trust’s role has been limited to providing services and support including document witnessing at its national network of customer centres.
Key Law’s Principal, Philip Alexander-Crawford, said the Key Law concept was innovative. It involved providing a national service from a central location via a freephone facility, with a local support for completing necessary paperwork. The arrangement had produced significant savings for homebuyers.
However, after an initial period of operation, the alliance members had developed different perspectives as to the best ways of delivering low cost services to homebuyers. ANZ said it would shortly announce a new home loan offer.
Existing conveyancing customers’ conveyancing requirements would be met regardless of when settlement was due to occur. However no new business could be accepted.
Customers who have questions are advised to contact Key Law on 0800 KEY LAW (0800 539 529) or via e-mail: key law@keylaw.co.nz.
