Dedicated LPG Ford Falcon - A 'Clean Vehicle' Now Even Easier To Attain
A continuation of recent enhancements across the Falcon range has seen Ford New Zealand reduce the price of its
dedicated LPG Falcons.
Cleaner, more economic and more environmentally friendly motoring will now be more attainable, thanks to a $1,000
reduction in the recommended retail price.
This decrease in price, coupled with the significant cost saving associated with LPG, will enable customers to recoup
their initial investment in as little as 10,000km of motoring.
The dedicated LPG range is now priced $500 above the cost of the equivalent petrol power Falcon, and starts with a
recommended retail price of $41,900 for the Forte sedan.
"We have been selling an average of 20 dedicated LPG Falcons a month, and we are working at supplying growing consumer
demand for a well-specified, environmentally conscious Falcon," said Brand Manager, Ian Swann.
"Especially one that retains the performance of petrol-powered models without compromising available features."
Ford Falcon dedicated LPG vehicles lack nothing when compared with their petrol equivalents. They have similar
performance, the same safety features such as dual passenger/ driver airbags and Anti-lock ABS brakes, an engine
immobiliser and comforts such as air-conditioning and a CD/ cassette stereo.
"We also sold 30 dedicated LPG Falcons in July, which was a record month for us," said Mr. Swann.
"This indicates that people are starting to realise that Ford dedicated LPG vehicles offer traditional large car
benefits such as performance and passenger room, but are combined with small car running costs."
The Ford dedicated LPG Falcon is also the only fully integrated system available in New Zealand that is built on the
line, and not converted afterwards.
"This ensures reliability and functionality, without impacting on dependability, as it has been developed from the
outset as a dedicated LPG vehicle," he said.
Innovations, such as calibrating the Distance To Empty (DTE) trip computer for LPG with audible reminders at specific
intervals, has meant that the LPG driver has all the same information available as the petrol driver.
In addition, there are environmental benefits such as reducing the amount of greenhouse gases expelled into the
environment, and a decrease in carbon emissions.
