More and more businesses appear to have their own Internet sites according to the TMP Salary survey results released
today (July 31).
This and other findings are the result of the TMP Salary survey (formerly Lampen Salary survey), which is conducted on
an annual basis. This survey (its 16th) looks at salary and employment trends for the year ended June 2001 and covers
550 employers over 21 industry groups nationwide.
General Manager Lampenalectus Recruitment TMP Worldwide, Jane Kennelly, says that there has been a +10% increase [from
last year] in respondents (71%) who have an Internet site, with a further 10% having one under development.
“Most commonly, Internet sites are used as a marketing tool and/or on-line brochure (63% of respondents). 31% use it for
information sharing and 8% indicated they used their Internet for e-commerce initiatives,” she says.
“In addition, 32% of respondents who have an Internet site advertise jobs on their own site compared with 15% last year.
Of those respondents who advertise on their own site, almost all role types were advertised.”.
In terms of IT-related salaries, the greatest salary movement was recorded for Analyst Programmer/Software Developer
(+16.87% nationally). Webmaster roles increased by +3.28%, Systems Analyst/Architect/Software Quality Assurance Analyst
roles by +2.91% and Helpdesk +5.23%.
