Telecom Mobile Customers Can Now Text To 021

Published: Wed 4 Jul 2001 11:08 AM
Telecom Mobile Limited launched its new advertising campaign this week, promoting the ability to send text messages from Telecom mobile phones to 021 numbers.
“As a result of heavy customer demand we have investigated and found a method of allowing our customers with text capable phones to send text messages via the internet to 021,” says Telecom Mobile Head of Marketing, Mark Livingstone.
“At this stage, the Telecom to 021 text messaging capability we have in place is an interim solution, and is working well. We know how popular text messaging is and so are hopeful we can reach an agreement with Vodafone that will enable customers to text freely between networks with out having to rely on the Internet.”
Telecom’s 021 text messaging capability was launched to its Pulsate customers back in May and is proving to be very popular.
As the Telecom to 021 messages are currently being sent via the Internet Telecom recommends customers make a voice cellular call for any urgent or critical messages.
