A minimum of eight million dollars will be won this Saturday evening (June 30) on Lotto Powerball.
Lotteries Commission marketing manager Philip Poole says the Commission is guaranteeing that the Lotto Powerball
Division One prize will be at least $8 million but sales could drive the figure higher.
“The Lotto Powerball Division One prize is at least $8 million, the Lotto Division One prize this Saturday is $1.3
million and the Lotto Strike 4 prize is $100,000. This means that across the three games a minimum of $9.4 million is at
stake,” Mr Poole says.
“At 8.30 on Saturday night we will know whether we have one winner who’s taken out both the Lotto and Lotto Powerball
prizes and won more than $8 million or if the big Lotto Powerball prize has been shared between a number of winners.
There is a range of possible results, but what we do know for sure is that the $8 million Lotto Powerball prize will be
won.”
If there are no Lotto Powerball Division One winners, the prize will go to the next Powerball prize division in which
there is a winner or winners.
Lotto Powerball was introduced on February 17. Since then, almost 45,000 New Zealanders have won $13.5 million in Lotto
Powerball prizes.
