Shape-PATCH Temporarily Withdrawn From Sale

Published: Tue 19 Jun 2001 12:38 AM
The distributors of weight loss product Shape-PATCH have temporarily withdrawn the product from the market and have cancelled the advertising for it.
“We will not be supplying, promoting or advertising Shape-PATCH until all appropriate approvals are in place and have been verified. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and anyone who has placed an order will be refunded,” a company spokeswoman said.
“We were satisfied when we began marketing the product that we had done all that we needed to do. The fact that newspapers were all prepared to accept our advertising also gave us some comfort that we were on firm ground. However, we now realise that not all details had been attended to and we have decided to withdraw the product until this is achieved, she said.
“We launched this product in New Zealand in good faith and believe it can provide significant health benefits for people with weight problems, which is one of the major health issues facing New Zealanders,” she said.
