Global Dairy Company Unleashes Industry's Potential.
"An outstanding mandate" is how Dairy Farmers of New Zealand (DFNZ) National Chairman Charlie Pedersen described today's vote in favour of Global Co.
"DFNZ knew the vast majority of dairy farmer's supported a unified New Zealand dairy industry because that is what farmers told us," said Mr Pedersen "That is why DFNZ have continued to push for a Global Co type proposal as the best way to deliver the industry's strategic plan."
"At long last dairy farmers have a structure which will allow the industry to realise its enormous potential. This will mean enhanced returns and wealth for New Zealand dairy farmers and major benefits for all New Zealanders."
"Keeping the industry together will guarantee New Zealand ownership of the dairy industry. Profits will come back to New Zealand and help sustain rural communities."
"Dairy Company, and Dairy Board directors and staff can feel justifiably satisfied with the endorsement given by farmers today following protracted and at times heated negotiations. Directors and staff can now devote their full attention to the commercial success for New Zealand's biggest and most exciting industry," concluded Mr Pedersen.
