New Communications Director For Tourism Auckland

Published: Wed 13 Jun 2001 03:28 PM
Tourism Auckland has appointed a new Communications Director, Rochelle Lockley.
Ms Lockley joins Tourism Auckland from CLEAR Communications, where she was Communications Manager, Commercial. She has 12 years' experience in journalism and public relations, including positions with the Waikato Times, the New Zealand Herald and telecommunications companies in London and New York.
Tourism Auckland Chief Executive Graeme Osborne says the appointment enables the organisation to focus on improving its relationships with the industry, the media and other stakeholders as the region gears up for a busy schedule of events leading up to the next America's Cup in early 2003.
Tourism Auckland's mission is to develop sustainable economic growth in tourism for the Auckland region through integrated marketing and industry development. It is funded by grants from all seven local authorities in the Auckland region and it operates six visitor information centres. Tourism Auckland's areas of expertise include international trade, conventions and incentives, events marketing and communications.
