Picket For Job Security

Published: Wed 23 May 2001 02:12 PM
You are invited to a picket on Friday 25th May at 12 noon, at the Employers and Manufacturers Association, 159 Khyber Pass, Newmarket.
The union has been fighting for a new law to protect cleaners jobs. Each time a company loses a cleaning contract on a worksite the cleaners face the loss of their jobs. We want a law that protects our jobs!
The Government promised to bring in a law. They set up a committe to talk about it. The Governmnet should be making a decision soon, so we need to let them know how important this law is to us! The Employers and Manufacturers Association is the union for bosses, and has tried to stop the new law form being passed. They don't beleive that we have a right to job security!
So the delegates wanted to show the Government how much we need our jobs to be secure! We work hard and the Governmnet should listen to us as cleaners and workers. We have a right to be treated fairly! So the delegates have organised the picket for this Friday.
Please come along and bring you family, whanau, ainga! See you there!
