Genie Systems Launches Data Transformation Manager With Lion Nathan Deal
B2B e-Commerce developer integrates DTM with other key OrderWare solutions
AUCKLAND – 21 May 2001 – New Zealand e-Commerce software development company, Genie Systems Limited, announced today the first sale under licence of its new software application, Data Transformation Manager (DTM). The latest component in Genie Systems’ flagship product suite, OrderWare, has been sold to Lion Nathan NZ Ltd.
“DTM is a strategic business tool which integrates all internal and external relationships, dramatically reducing the costs and risks of integrating e-Procurement and Supply Chain Functions within an organisation,” explains Genie Systems Australasian General Manager, Nigel Varcoe. “It is vital to the survival of every organisation that it sends data quickly, seamlessly and with total confidence to all customers, suppliers and business partners. DTM ensures that the right information is made available at the right time to the right people.”
“We tested Genie Systems’ DTM and the results exceeded our expectations,” explains Lion Nathan’s IT Director, Darryl Warren. “DTM enables Lion Nathan to transfer securely an extensive array of information critical to our business from many technology platforms. In particular, DTM’s flexibility in integrating with a range of complex systems as well as its competitive price point were key factors in our decision to implement the product.”
DTM is the latest offering in Genie Systems’ e-Commerce software suite, OrderWare. The deal with Lion Nathan in New Zealand follows on from OrderWare’s major success internationally with sales to clients such as Toys ‘R’ Us in the United States and the Singaporean ship-building conglomerate, Keppel FELS. In March New Zealand-based white ware manufacturer, Fisher & Paykel Ltd, implemented OrderWare within its B2B ‘DealerNet’ portal allowing US dealers to purchase F goods directly from New Zealand. “The Lion Nathan deal further underlines our ability to implement and operate highly complex procurement and distribution systems throughout the world,” says Mr Varcoe.
About Data Transformation Manager
With OrderWare’s Data Transformation Manager, the data on which a company is dependent can be sent and retrieved from all business partners, irrespective of their technology platforms, locations and time-zones. DTM includes the ability to map multiple data sources, manage disparate formats and transfer vital information at times and frequencies that suit the requirements of each business. Developed for use across the Internet, security is an integral function of DTM ensuring the rapid transfer of protected data in a highly secure format.
DTM automatically updates the 'Buy Side' or 'Sell Side' of online product catalogs, while complete error handling allows visibility throughout the process to ensure that all 'conversations' have been completed successfully. With its own scripting tool, Data Transformation Manager handles real time and batch data transfer. This powerful feature allows a company to trigger events and actions based on data transmitted or received. The scheduler defines the frequency with which information is exchanged, while DTM accumulates and manages data 'queued' for transmission between scheduled timeslots.
Data Transformation Manager is a shrink-wrapped application that can be installed and operated by non-developers. It integrates seamlessly with other key OrderWare solutions such as Supply Chain Manager, Multi-Vendor Catalog and Procurement Manager.
