Dairy Farmers of New Zealand Chairman Charlie Pedersen and Vice Chairman Kevin Wooding yesterday received a huge show of
support when they were re-elected unopposed at the DFNZ Annual Conference held in Shepparton, Australia. Both were
re-elected for their third year in office.
Wanganui dairy farmer David Hopkins was elected as a second Vice Chairman replacing long term council member Paddy
Briscoe, who signalled his intention to retire from the council several months ago.
In acknowledging the support of his colleagues Mr Pedersen paid tribute to the contribution of the retiring Vice
Chairman Paddy Briscoe. He said that Mr Briscoe's contribution to the industry and his wisdom would be sorely missed by
DFNZ.
"We are in a phase of unprecedented change within the industry, and more than ever farmers need a strong and independent
voice. DFNZ provides that voice and I am privileged to have the opportunity to serve my fellow dairy farmers with the
support of two very astute and competent Vice Chairmen", said Mr Pedersen.
Cambridge dairy farmer Richard Myers and Frank Brenmuhl from West Coast were elected to complete the 5 member DFNZ
Executive.
