AMP Henderson Private Capital & Caltech invest $4 Million In QED
AMP Henderson Private Capital has invested $4 million in Auckland based QED Software Limited.
AMP Henderson Private Capital made its investment jointly with Caltech Capital Partners, as part of their successful
joint venture relationship.
QED is a leading software development business that focuses on transport logistics for small to medium enterprises, and
migrating mission-critical systems to the internet.
The investment will be used to fund rollout of QED’s Hercules transport and logistics software through Application
Server Provider (ASP) technology in USA, Australia and NZ.
Research carried out by QED indicates that the ASP-provided Hercules software will provide American users with annual
cost savings of up to three times their yearly software rental.
QED’s CEO Michael Hartley believes the combination of strong product functionality, large international markets and very
accurate price point built on a foundation of solid software delivery, provides QED with a strong competitive advantage.
“We’re delighted to be investing in a growth-focussed company like QED,” said AMP Henderson Head of Private Capital,
Martin Turner.
“With a 17 year history of successful software development in New Zealand and strong management, we see QED as a
blue-chip operator in this market. They are exactly the sort of company that we want to partner with,” Mr Turner said.
Caltech director Douglas Paul will join the QED Board as part of the investment.
While QED’s head office is in Auckland, it also has a development centre in India, a sales office in London and will
soon be opening a new sales office in Los Angeles.
AMP Henderson Private Capital is New Zealand’s largest private capital investment manager. Caltech is a specialist New
Zealand technology venture capital fund manager.
