Mobile Users To Reap Rewards Of Spectrum Auction, Says CLEAR
CLEAR Communications has described the outcome of the spectrum auction as a shot in the arm for innovation and competition in mobile communications.
Chief Executive Peter Kaliaropoulos said mobile users will reap the rewards because CLEAR has won both 2G and 3G spectrum. "That means we can expect vigorous competition and real differentiation in mobility services," he said.
Mr Kaliaropoulos said CLEAR was delighted at the auction result, which capped a year of strong growth. "Winning mobility spectrum is a long-term investment in the future of our company and a brilliant start to a business year which will see CLEAR accelerate its growth even faster. This is a big step forward to our goal of achieving a strong position in the wireless and mobile data markets.
"A market-leading mobile offer from CLEAR will complement our existing portfolio of broadband services."
CLEAR's focus will now shift to working closely with Vodafone and other business partners to bring new mobile services to market as quickly as possible. Further announcements will be made when those discussions are completed.
