Sales Technologies wins Ansett/Air New Zealand contract after airline merger
Merged airlines opt for Vantive solution
AUCKLAND, December 13, 2000 - Sales Technologies Limited today announced it had signed a landmark agreement to provide an Enterprise Service Management system to the merged Ansett and Air New Zealand.
The agreement integrates the operations of new airline’s staff, and ties these in with the third party suppliers. It provides for a set of unified procedures and processes across all staff, a key factor in the successful merger of the two businesses.
Sales Technologies managing director John Devine said the project would power call centres, web–enabled help desks and the delivery of service to the new airline’s several thousand employees. This included procurement and using the web to deliver self-help for staff.
The Enterprise Service Management system allows an Air NZ/Ansett employee to log and monitor a call by the web for any IT related problem or request with a users working environment. The easy to use system can control global communications from one station 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The station centralises communications with immediate and automatic communication with third party service providers providing a response no matter their location or time.
“The merged airline is a substantial business and needed a platform that would help in the process of combining two different entities while enabling future growth,” Mr Devine said.
“The Vantive solution we scoped and designed for this project, has the international credentials. Vantive has the capacity for delivering efficiently on large scale operations. The ability to call on the Sales Technologies resources in this area for rapid deployment meant we were able to meet Air New Zealand’s timetable requirements.”
“We are particularly pleased to have been successful in winning this contract against considerable competition. The project is an endorsement of the capabilities of Sales Technologies and its international partners to deliver global standard solutions, ” Mr Devine said.
