SHELL DROPS SERVICE STATION DIESEL PRICES BY 3 CENTS –
“WE WANT YOU!” SAYS SHELL
Shell announced a three cent drop in diesel prices across its service station network today (Thursday 7 December), building on the 10 cent decrease in petrol and diesel prices announced by the Company yesterday.
Diesel prices in the main centres will move to 79.9 cents with immediate effect.
Shell said the move was a continued, deliberate response to win new custom and build its market share across its service station network.
Says Shell Retail Manager, Steve Foster: “Shell is 100 per cent committed to bringing motorists the best petrol and diesel prices in the country.”
Mr Foster said Shell’s pricing strategy was sustainable, and forward-looking.
“This is about building loyalty and respect. We will continue to compete aggressively until the greater New Zealand public discover that Shell is the most innovative and cost-competitive company in the sector.”
Yesterday’s 10-cent decrease in fuel prices was the biggest on record, and reflected Shell’s continued role as the leading oil marketer and explorer in the Southern Hemisphere.
