Farmers Trading Company Limited has announced the nationwide expansion of Farmers Home Loan Service (FHLS).
Farmers Home Loan Service is available to consumers throughout New Zealand via a 0800 number. Until recently, FHLS was
available in Auckland, Palmerston North, Hamilton and surrounding areas.
Farmers Home Loan Service offers consumers a range of financial services products from a select group of highly
reputable New Zealand financial institutions - AMP Banking, The National Bank, Sovereign and WestpacTrust.
In announcing the expansion, Farmers Deka Limited Chief Executive, Mr Nick Lowe said the FHLS nationwide roll out was a
result of consumer demand.
"We have been encouraged by interest in FHLS, particularly from consumers outside the initial Auckland launch area. In
addition, we have had requests from our Farmers Card client base, many of whom reside outside the original trial zone,
for FHLS services. Therefore, we have expanded our operations nationwide to support these customers, sooner than was
originally anticipated," Mr Lowe said.
While the variety of products on offer will remain unchanged, FHLS Consultants are frequently being asked to tailor
packages to suit individual needs.
"There has been considerable interest in FHLS conducting financial `health checks' for clients and restructuring
existing home loan arrangements. Our clients like having free access to skilled home loan advocates and the many unique
benefits from the Farmers group designed to enhance the FHLS offer," Mr Lowe said.
At this stage, consumers can contact FHLS by calling 0800 53 30 30. However, as demand grows, FHLS personnel will also
be available for face-to-face consultations in high volume districts. "We believe our FHLS model will be welcomed by
consumers in all areas, particularly as the home loan market becomes increasingly fragmented and complicated. Our
research indicates consumers are seeking assistance from providers they know and trust - with decades of consumer
finance and insurance services experience to their credit, Farmers, via FHLS, certainly fits the bill," Mr Lowe said.
