THE JUICE, THE WHOLE JUICE, AND NOTHING BUT THE JUICE
Charlies Trading Company is bringing the freshest juice that has ever been available to supermarkets in New Zealand. Charlie the Juicer now offers “naked”, pure unadulterated, fresh-squeezed juice in 18 New World Supermarkets throughout the North Island and selected Pak’N Save stores.
Owned and operated by Stefan Lepionka (formerly Stefan Juices - who knows a thing or two about juice) and Marc Ellis (who knows a thing or two about promoting it), Charlies Trading Company is set to make real juice fun, hassle free and affordable.
Marc says of the launch “Our research has shown that given a real choice consumers will choose fresh juice every time. The majority of juice blends say they’re fresh, but they’re not. They are full of concentrates added sugars, additives and preservatives. Charlie the Juicer is the only freshly squeezed juice available in New Zealands supermarkets, rich in the vitamins and minerals that the traditional pasteurisation process can destroy.
It is a complete sensory experience, providing in-store theatre as the machine strips and squeezes the fruit in front of your very eyes.”
Stefan added “We have trialed Charlie the Juicer in North Island stores. Charlie has out-sold all other “perceived” fresh juices combined by over 400%. New Zealanders want and deserve the very best, and should be given the option to base their purchase decision on taste, quality and price.”
Statistics show that freshly squeezed juice represents up to 55% of the total juice sold in western supermarkets worldwide. The reason that New Zealander’s have been unable to get freshly squeezed juice until now is that it is so expensive to produce by the majority of established juice companies.
According to Stefan “Companies use cheaper ingredients such as concentrates to create bigger margins as opposed to fresh oranges daily.
Customers are already asking if we are expanding our range. A wider variety of fruit is in the pipeline, as well as the distribution nation-wide.”
Marc concluded, “We are providing New Zealanders with a choice that they did not have before. All we are asking is that you give it a try - read the label and taste the difference and read all labels.”
