SHELL HOLDING OFF PETROL AND DIESEL INCREASES PETROL PRICES DUE TO HOLIDAY WEEKEND
Shell has decided to delay an inevitable petrol and diesel price increase until midday tomorrow, saying motorists
deserve a break on the long weekend.
The company says that rising oil and refined product costs and an ever-weakening dollar have made current prices
unsustainable, but it is deferring an increase for 24 hours.
Shell will be raising petrol prices by four cents and diesel prices by seven cents from midday tomorrow (Saturday 21
October).
Says Shell Retail Manager, Steve Foster: “Despite our reluctance to undo all the good work we’ve done in bringing prices
down, events on the international stage make a price rise unavoidable. Our competitors timing has, however been lousy,
and we want to ensure that motorists heading away for the weekend have some time to fill up at cheaper prices."
