Manfed Welcomes Government Moves On Compliance Costs
“Steps announced today by the Government to get serious about business compliance costs are very welcome”, said Simon Carlaw, Chief Executive of the New Zealand Manufacturers Federation. He was commenting on a package of measures announced by the Minister of Commerce, Hon Paul Swain.
“As the Minister has noted, this is a perennial issue that has been more talked about than actioned. Compliance costs are critical for start-up and small businesses and important to New Zealand’s overall competitiveness. Too often there has been a failure of communication.
“We share Mr Swain’s expectation that better progress will be possible on a partnership basis between the Government and business that can contribute both to problem identification and problem solving.”
