Symantec Adds New Talent To It Sole Offshore Development Site In The World
Auckland, – October 16, 2000 – With considerable experience working with development teams to deliver to deadlines and
product specifications in the US, Scott Madden has been appointed Senior Program Manager for Symantec New Zealand’s
Symantec Ghost development team, based in Auckland
Working with a team of 34 software developers and testers, Scott’s role will focus on coordinating the tasks of several
functional groups working locally to develop the next generation of market-leading PC imaging technology – Symantec
Ghost. As an integral part of a worldwide organisation spread over many time zones, Scott will be moving the team
towards an aggressive delivery schedule, and be responsible for resolving matters arising during the development cycle.

International software industry is moving at a rapid pace so we are constantly striving to improve our world-class
solution. Working with customers, we continue to learn and understand more about the enterprise market and PC

Scott spent the past eight years with Symantec in the US, most recently working to create a Customer Response Team
dedicated to resolving issues in key corporate accounts, and as a Program Manager at the Symantec Los Angeles, CA
offices leading the Symantec Desktop Firewall project.
Scott has degrees in computer programming, computer operations, and physics, with minors in Mathematics and Business.
He reports to Olivier Duhamel, Director, Research and Development, Symantec New Zealand.
