GeneratorBates powered up and ready to go
Three weeks after it was announced, the GeneratorBates merger is a done deal with the fully integrated agency now
operating from Viaduct Quay on the Auckland waterfront.
CEO Andrew Stone says he’s delighted with the transition and reckons its been one of the fastest and smoothest mergers
the communications industry has seen.
“We said we’d do it in three weeks and we’ve done it in a total sense — the IT is done, everyone’s in one location at
Viaduct Quay and we’re ready to start building a great new agency.
“Our first task is to demonstrate to our clients the benefits of the merger in terms of access to the extra resource
provided by the Bates Worldwide network and the PR, event marketing and media resources they can access,” Mr Stone said.
“Internally we’ve changed a few things and we’re now working in pods bringing together all the people from various parts
of the agency into account teams to live the integration concept.”
He said the Viaduct Quay premises had been re-organised with a “new lounge and a new pub” which were integral to
integration for both clients and staff teams.
“It feels good, it looks good and we’ve had nothing but positive feedback from the clients who have been exposed to the
full range of services we can now provide.
“We’ve just got to get on and do it.”
From today, the agency combines GeneratorBates (advertising), 141 New Zealand (event and ambient marketing and PR) and
The Media Palace (media planning and placement) under the banner of The Communications Group.
