esolutions Partners With Tech Pacific In A Unique Supply Initiative
esolutions, the ecommerce alliance between Telecom, EDS and Microsoft, has announced an agreement with leading technology distribution company Tech Pacific to manage its nationwide Tier 2 and Tier 3 reseller network, in what is thought to be a world first for an Application Service Provider (ASP).
While most ASPs sell direct or use traditional channel models, the extent of activity outsourced to Tech Pacific is unique. Under the agreement Tech Pacific will manage over 2,000 smaller resellers of esolutions products throughout the country. Tech Pacific's role involves not only channel communication and promotional activities, but training, accreditation, support and delivery of esolutions' packages. The customer will be invoiced at the end of each month on their Telecom account and the reseller will be rebated for the sale through Tech Pacific.
Joanne Hodgson, esolutions' Channel Manager, says Tech Pacific was selected for their extensive market reach, support network and existing relationships with resellers. "Working with Tech Pacific has increased esolutions' speed to market and allows us to continue to focus on creating new products using the strengths of our parent companies.
"Combined with our major channel partners and parent companies, this agreement means that any technology company in New Zealand can access esolutions' packages. This is an essential part of esolutions vision to revolutionise the capabilities of all New Zealand businesses, no matter what their size or location."
Tony Butler, managing director of Tech Pacific says the relationship with esolutions is an evolution for his company from distributing products to services.
"There are significant benefits for resellers too as they will not need to establish a new trading relationship with another supplier, but can order esolutions packages through their traditional channels with Tech Pacific," says Butler. "And now, no matter what their size, resellers throughout the country will be able to offer their customers complete online solutions."
Tier 2 resellers are independent companies that provide IT services or products to corporate, government and small business customers and have proven experience in the sale of Microsoft or Telecom products. As Tier 2 resellers they are accredited with esolutions Member Status.
Tier 3 resellers have esolutions General Reseller Status. By default every Reseller begins in the Tier 3 level and by meeting various accreditation requirements progress through the tiers. Products are aligned to these tiers and in some cases restricted to only those resellers accredited to that Tier.
esolutions will be talking to resellers directly through hands-on briefings throughout the country from Monday 9th October. The esolutions channel briefings mirror the dates and locations of the Cisco edays, of which esolutions is one of the main sponsors, but will be held in the afternoon. Resellers have been invited to hear about esolutions product offerings and how these can help their customers.
The esolution reseller roadshow will be travelling to Invercargill on 9/10, Christchurch on 10/10, Nelson on 12/10, Wellington on 13/10, Palmerston North on 17/10, Hamilton on 18/10 and Auckland on 20/10.
