Despite a year noteworthy for dot com's struggling or failing, SuperCyberStore celebrates its first birthday today.
"It has been tougher than I expected, but company is in a strong position to grow in the next year," said founder and Managing Director Shane Frith.
"We will continue to follow a philosophy of great customer service combined with the best deals in New Zealand."
"It is important to remember that we are in an extremely early stage of a technology that will dominate some sectors of the retail industry within five years."
A recent survey showed that less that 10% of New Zealander's have bought online. Most of these purchases comprise of books and compact disks.
"The future for traditional retailing is bleak."
Originally launched as Discounts Online, the website was rebranded as SuperCyberStore in April. SuperCyberStore has a range of 10,000 products in 300 departments. Categories include cell phone accessories, computer hardware & software, whitewear, audio/video, toys & games, and cameras.
Shane Frith and Angus Fergusson who each have a 50% shareholding own SuperCyberStore.com Limited.
"We have some big plans leading up to Christmas and into next year."
