Hyderabad, India. 19 September 2000. - E-commerce software company JADE and Capital Technologies Ltd from India today
announced a partnership agreement that will see Capital Technologies become a JADE Partner.
Capital Technologies are developing a JADE capability to help them sell and support the wealth of JADE applications
available for resale, says Capital Technologies' Executive Director Krishna Tammireddy. "We are very interested in the
JADE solutions built for banking, and have looked at the port and healthcare products created with JADE."
Mr Tammireddy says Capital Technologies supplies e-commerce software, hardware and services to several industries. "Our
customers include Cisco, Banana Republic and Gap - we specialise in areas where companies need an e-commerce backbone,
where they are doing serious e-commerce transactions."
JADE was complementary to Capital Technologies' products and services and Mr Tammireddy said could see a ready market
amongst their existing client base. "JADE provides good technology, and we have good marketing skills and connections in
this area."
Backed by Indian plastics giant Saptagari, Capital Technologies have a development staff of 90. Mr Tammireddy said they
are sending a team of developers to New Zealand in the next month to start JADE training.
JADE's General Manager Sales & Marketing Owen Scott, said the agreement with Capital Technologies reflected a maturing of market interest in JADE
throughout Asia, "We now have partners in India, Singapore, Japan and Korea, working on significant development projects
or reselling JADE-built software."
The fact that large, successful IT companies from Asia were buying technology from a New Zealand software company was
proof of the compelling offering JADE had, said Mr Scott. "Successful e-commerce software has some key ingredients: it
must be scalable, easy to connect to other systems, easy to modify and above all, guarantee the integrity of
transactions. Using a single, integrated toolset like JADE is the best way to create software to meet this challenge.
"Piecing together multiple technologies from multiple vendors to build your core systems may have been viable before
e-commerce, but now you have to connect your systems to a host of others it will become increasingly unfeasible."
JADE expected to make further announcements about partnerships in Asia in the near future.
