Genie Systems Appoints Chief Financial Officer

Craig Brown Augments Global Sales Campaign of OrderWare, the Premier Enabler for Internet Based Business-to-Business Commerce
AUCKLAND – 15 September 2000 – New Zealand e-Commerce software company, Genie Systems Limited, announced the appointment of Craig Brown to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Mr Brown will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of Genie Systems on a global basis, as the company maximises the success of its award winning flagship product OrderWare. By using the Internet for business-to-business trading, the OrderWare suite delivers real business outcomes for Genie Systems’ clients.
Joining an executive team of seven, Mr Brown will report to CEO and Co-Founder Mike Hendry who is now based at the Genie Systems office in San Francisco. Commenting on the appointment, Mr Hendry said Craig Brown was an experienced financial officer and a strong negotiator. “An expert in complex financial modelling, Craig will be an invaluable part of the Genie Systems team,” he said.
Before joining Genie Systems, Mr Brown was Financial Controller for a large multinational corporation involved in the design, manufacture, and marketing of advanced wireless solutions for worldwide telephone networks. Prior to this he was closely involved in the NASDAQ listing of MAS Technology in 1997, which was seven times over-subscribed at IPO. A Chartered Accountant (ICANZ), he has also held senior consulting and auditing positions at Ernst & Young.
