Westpactrust Wins Retailers’ Banking Contract
WestpacTrust has won a contract to provide members of the Retail Merchants Association of New Zealand with full banking services including eftpos, credit cards and transactional banking.
The association has about 60% of the retail market with over 3500 members nationwide.
WestpacTrust chief executive Tom Gallagher said he was delighted at the contract which saw a customised solution developed and reinforces WestpacTrust’s position as New Zealand’s leading bank for business.
“WestpacTrust has worked closely with the association to develop a one stop banking product with end-to-end electronic solutions and tailored transactional banking packages to meet the needs of New Zealand retailers,” Mr Gallagher said.
“WestpacTrust is a full service bank with a commitment to New Zealand business and part of that commitment includes leveraging different parts of our business to meet customers’ needs,” Mr Gallagher said.
John Albertson chief executive of the Retail Merchants Association of New Zealand, said the contract was a “pretty exciting” development for his members.
“The package WestpacTrust has developed provides solutions to all our key issues and at very competitive prices,” Mr Albertson said. “The association has worked with our members to find out what they want in a banking package and WestpacTrust’s solution has been well thought through from our perspective. We have also been able to negotiate a rate for banking services that many merchants wouldn’t have been able to negotiate alone.”
