Business communications specialist, National Mail New Zealand Limited, today announced the appointment of Peter W
Fitzsimmons OBE to the position of non-executive Director of National Mail.
Mr Fitzsimmons is well known in New Zealand business circles as a professional director and business advisor
specialising in the management of companies through transitional processes.
Currently, he is Chairman and a Director of Metlifecare Limited, a publicly listed company and Deputy Chairman and a
Director of @Work Insurance Limited. He is also a Director of many private companies and organisations as well as acting
as Trustee of a number of charitable trusts.
National Mail Chairman, Richard Flower, said that Mr Fitzsimmons will bring extremely valuable skills to the company and
complement the strengths of the existing National Mail Directors, Paul Meier and Antony Fowler.
“Peter Fitzsimmons has significant experience in New Zealand business and his reputation as a practical company manager
is second to none,” Mr Flower said.
“He comes to National Mail at a time when the company is undergoing a period of considerable transformation and growth.
His guidance and expertise in the field of change management will be invaluable.”
Mr Fitzsimmons said that he welcomed the chance to work with a company as vigorous and energetic as National Mail and
would work to cement and enhance the position the company had established in the communications market.

Mr Fitzsimmons will join the Board effective from 11 September 2000.
As well as his business interests, Peter Fitzsimmons has a wide range of community and sporting interests and is
currently the Chairman of the Surf Lifeguards New Zealand Foundation, President of the Mount Maunganui Life Guard
Service and a Trustee of North Harbour Stadium.
