At June 30, Xtra had increased its dial-up customer base to 287,000, with over 9,000 new customers signing up in the month of June alone. Xtra expects the total number of customers to exceed 300,000 in August.
While customer numbers are steadily increasing, usage statistics reveal that Xtra customers are also spending more time online with weekly usage now consistently over 1.1 million hours.
Xtra General Manager, Graham Mitchell says that customer sessions are now averaging 480,000 per day and up to 550,000 per day, which is a significant increase from the same time last year when the average was 283,000 customer sessions per day.
