Infinity Group Limited – Profile
Infinity Group Limited is a New Zealand-based, information technology services business. Created in June 2000 to provide integrated IT solutions, Infinity Group’s capabilities span engineering services, value-added reselling, software development, systems integration and e-Commerce.
By combining well-established, profitable businesses with embryonic, high-growth organisations into one company, Infinity Group has achieved operational and intellectual synergies resulting in a comprehensive business solution for clients.
Infinity Group was formed through a series of acquisitions of established technology businesses including:
 Trilogy Group Limited – One of New Zealand’s largest computer field engineering businesses, hardware and software systems integrators and specialist software and support services providers;
 Madison Group Limited – An IBM business partner providing a range of products and services including IBM mid-range and PC products and software solutions for the e-Commerce, manufacturing and distribution vertical markets and entertainment industries, in Australia and New Zealand;
 Quanta Systems Limited – A New Zealand business involved in marketing, installation and support of internally developed distribution and financial software management systems;
 InfoVista Pty Limited – An intra/extranet solution planning, development, implementation, application re-seller and support business based in Sydney.
These companies have been integrated under the Infinity Group brand and are managed by a small corporate head office, based in Wellington, and led by Chief Executive Mr Ross Baker, a former senior executive of NZ Post and Telecom New Zealand. The head office team provides strategic direction and financial management for the business as well as integrating client solutions horizontally across the business units.
It is unlikely that the constituent businesses, as stand alone entities, would have had the same access to capital and financial systems as they do now within Infinity Group. This, combined with a corporate structure that encourages the business units to grow through innovation and entrepreneurial management, under the guidance of an experienced head office team, are competitive advantages.
Infinity Group is a private company, 56 percent owned by Active Equities Limited with the balance held by the employees and former shareholders of Trilogy Group, Madison Group and Quanta Systems.
