New Global Tri*M Index: We Rate Our Managers

Results released today from a survey on New Zealand management styles indicate New Zealanders rate their managers more highly than those employees surveyed in Europe, the UK and USA.
Conducted using a proven stakeholder management research system, called TRI*M which is about to be launched in New Zealand by NFO CM Research, the survey shows New Zealand leads the way in Manager Evaluation ratings, scoring 61 on the TRI*M Global Index ahead of the USA (58) and Germany (52).
Undertaken by German stakeholder management research expert and founder of the TRI*M system Dr Jo Scharioth says the research also shows the level of employee commitment/motivation and the level of Internal Service Quality (how well one department in a company services another) in New Zealand is on par with the USA.
“These findings say huge amounts about the positive working climate in New Zealand and for a small country this is extremely admirable. It is more than likely why New Zealand has achieved economic turnaround in such a short period of time.”
Although New Zealanders rate their managers highly, particularly in terms of their contribution to the success of the company, the research also indicates New Zealand employees are also major contributors to a company’s success.
“New Zealand’s Employee Typology is similar to the United States showing a high proportion of Drivers (highly satisfied and motivated workers) in the workforce,” Mr Scharioth says.
“This is consistent with the deregulated, highly competitive and success driven nature of both the New Zealand and USA markets.”
However, New Zealand also has a high number of Detached (lowly satisfied and motivated) employees among its workforce.
“This lack of commitment by ‘disengaged’ employees is a real issue for management,” says Dr Scharioth.
“Clearly, in the context of recent changes within working environments, ‘detachment’ is a viable coping strategy for a number of New Zealanders.”
The President of the NFO Global TRI*M Center, Dr Scharioth is in New Zealand this week to launch the TRI*M system for NFO CM Research.
TRI*M, an abbreviation for triple M, is an internationally proven system for the measurement, management and monitoring of a company’s most important assets – its stakeholder relationships.
The TRI*M system is set to assist in revolutionalising the way company’s conduct business and until now there has been no way to accurately quantify and analyse the strength of a company’s interpersonal relationships with its stakeholders and consequently make correct decisions about how to interact with them.
The TRI*M research system can be used in similar context to the recent survey, but on a company-by-company basis providing firms with information about the levels of commitment and motivation its customers, employees, shareholders and the public have towards the company going forward.
