AUCKLAND, (7 June) - Garth Partridge has been appointed Solutions Marketing Manager for Compaq Computer New Zealand's Enterprise Solutions and Services Group.
Formerly a Business Partner Manager with the company's Commercial Personal Computing Group, Mr Partridge will be responsible for liaising with third parties working with Compaq to provide enterprise-level computing solutions. This includes managing strategic relationships with Microsoft, Oracle, SAP and software developers in the global Compaq Solutions Alliance.
"Half of Compaq's revenue comes from solutions and these alliances are an essential part of Compaq's business as a total solutions company, rather than just a hardware company," Mr Partridge said.
The group's Solutions and Product Marketing Manager, John McCullough, said the position was a new one that reflected the importance Compaq placed on relationships with its key business partners and its commitment to the enterprise solutions market.
Mr Partridge is also responsible for choosing local partners to help select and implement global Compaq solutions. His responsibilities also include Compaq's entry into e-commerce locally.
Having been with Compaq for 10 years in a variety of roles, Mr Partridge's knowledge allows Compaq and partners to smoothly adopt each other's new initiatives and directions in a fast moving industry.
