AC Nielsen Net Ratings
ACNielsen eRatings.com has released April data from their New Zealand Nielsen//NetRatings at home internet audience measurement service. Nielsen//NetRatings measures at-home real time internet behavior.
The April results show that:
 After just 10 weeks nzoom.com has climbed to be the 7th most visited New Zealand domain.
 nzoom.com’s page impressions has increased 50% month on month – one of the highest growth rates in traffic for any domain in the New Zealand Nielsen//NetRatings audience measurement service.
Page impressions for nzoom.com grew from 338,000 in March to 674,000 in April. In accordance with this, their unique audience has grown from 28,356 in March to 45,308 in April.
nzoom.com is enjoying increased traffic and popularity since the merger of the TV ONE and TV2 sites under the one easy access umbrella of nzoom.com. The range and depth of nzoom.com’s content is ever increasing – including the launch recently of a comprehensive travel site.
nzoom.com General Manager, Simon Aimer says he is thrilled with the April Nielsen//NetRatings results as they are beginning to reflect nzoom.com’s dominant position in the New Zealand market.
“We are extremely excited at these results – it is evidence that we are clearly delivering a credible service that New Zealanders are responding to.
“The month on month growth is really positive and is a tribute to the nzoom team and our marketing efforts. The demographics of our visitors show we are on target with our positioning to be the home-page for New Zealanders.”
Aimer also points out that people analysing this data need to be mindful of the fact that Nielsen//NetRatings currently does not take into account at-work users or international visitors.
“Our in-house research tells us that 50% of our visitors are using the Internet at work and a further 50% are from overseas. Add these figures to the Nielsen //NetRating’s data and the results look significantly different for nzoom.com and others in the study.”
Aimer believes nzoom.com’s success will continue by providing New Zealand centric content using an MSN and Yahoo site model. Aimer says “MSN.com and Yahoo.com remain the most popular international sites for New Zealanders to visit. With our snap.com partnership providing US information and nzoom.com providing New Zealand relevant material - we are perfectly positioned to provide a local alternative to these major US sites.”
Drawing on TV ONE’s journalism resource and expertise in news, sport, and weather, and adding to this entertainment, home and garden, technology, business and travel – nzoom.com’s content is highly sought after. That is good news for New Zealand’s 7th ranked domain that is reliant on eyeballs and advertising for revenue.
