TVNZ has developed an innovative software programme which will significantly assist clients in the way they book
advertising time on TV ONE and TV2.
Telebook will enable TVNZ clients to book advertising time electronically, eliminating the need for faxes or booking
forms and providing a faster turn around of bookings for agencies.
Telebook has been developed for TVNZ's Landmark sales system and works alongside the existing booking and planning
programmes already installed in agencies.
TVNZ General Manager of Sales, Jeff Latch says the new system will be particularly advantageous when new inventory and
the new seasons are released.
"Telebook will provide a quick and accurate booking system by removing the need for paper entries, faxes and the
re-keying of information at both ends of the process.
"We are also looking at developing Telebook further to include the electronic transfer of material instructions,
cancellations and any adjustments to current holdings.
In response to market concerns and feedback, as part of the Telebook development, TVNZ will be adding additional
features to Telemail. These features will provide confirmation of material instructions, define core and non-core
programming and will include programme genre to assist the development of booking proposals.
"This technology further enhances the service provided to clients and agencies by TVNZ. In an increasingly competitive
marketplace, it is vital that initiatives such as this are introduced to differentiate the service TVNZ can offer when
compared with its competitors," says Jeff Latch.
Telebook will be rolled out progressively throughout the latter part of the year.
