QUIK INTERNET FIRST IN THE NATION TO OFFER PREPAID INTERNET ACCESS
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, April 3 RNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- Quik Internet New Zealand, the franchised Internet service provider, today announced it is the first Internet provider to bundle its services as a prepaid product. Quik Internet NZ has formed an exclusive agreement with Dick Smith Electronics to supply prepaid Internet products throughout New Zealand. The product, Quik/Start, is available at all Dick Smith Electronics stores.
The concept of prepaid service was adopted by the cellular industry in 1998 and widely accepted by consumers. Monitoring cellular growth, Quik Internet recognized that the prepaid model was a perfect fit for the Internet industry. The cellular market grew from 17% in 1998 to 30% at year-end 1999, largely due to the prepaid option.
Quik Internet sought a partner in creating and distributing a prepaid Internet product based on the demand it observed in the cellular industry. The prepaid option gives consumers freedom to customize their Internet usage and gives a friendlier user environment. Customized service is the cornerstone to Quik Internet's business and this product offering furthers its commitment.
"We are excited about our partnership with Dick Smith Electronics and the opportunity to offer our customers a prepaid option," said Geoff Olliff, sales and marketing director of Quik Internet NZ. "We are glad to be the Internet company pioneering this product in New Zealand.
"Customers benefit from the control they have over their Internet use with the Quik/Start prepaid Internet service. They only pay when they are using their Internet access, they do not have to commit to a term, and there is no invoice, statement or contract to worry about."
Quik/Start Prepaid customers have the same benefits offered to traditional Quik customers. Including, unrestricted Internet surfing, unlimited personal e-mail, five e-mail addresses, free 10MB Web site hosted on Quik's IBM RS/6000 Web servers, and free personal customer service and technical support.
To provide personal customer service, Quik Internet is a franchise operation establishing local offices independently owned and operated under the name of Quik Internet. The partnership with Dick Smith Electronics and the new prepaid product has created a need for more franchise owners. Interested entrepreneurs now have the opportunity to invest and run their own Internet business with more security from existing revenue streams.
