INTERNET ANNUAL RETURNS RELEASED TO THOUSANDS
New Zealand registered companies and their agents can now file annual returns with the Companies Office over the
Internet.
The Internet Annual Return package, released by the Companies Office this month, allows users to update or simply
confirm the registered details of their company at http://www.companies.govt.nz.
The filing fee is paid by credit card or via an established on- line account with the Companies Office.
Companies Office Internet Support Manager, Andrew Wagg said flyers advertising the new Internet service were delivered
last week to the first group of 21,000 companies with annual returns due in April.
"This is a significant moment for the managers and owners of those companies because the annual return represents half
of their core communication with the Companies Office," he said. "They are fortunate to be the first to benefit from the
convenience of being
able to file their returns on-line."
Mr Wagg said the Companies Office is predicting that 50 per cent of annual returns will be filed on-line by the end of
this year.
"The Internet Annual Return filing process is a key development towards our vision of an electronic companies register,"
he said.
The release of the Internet Annual Return package follows the successful launch of the on-line company incorporation
facility by the Companies Office last year. The Office plans to release additional services at their Internet site this
year that will make it possible to conduct most types of company document registration
on-line.
