New Zealand Police and Vodaphone say a mobile phone warning currently doing the rounds on email is a hoax.
Both New Zealand Police and Vodaphone say recipients should ignore the message which tells people to enter #90 or 90#
END on their calls.
New Zealand Police does not have an Education Resources Branch as named in the email, and would not generate messages of
this nature without making sure recipients were well aware of the content’s authenticity.
The hoax message came to light last year and has resurfaced in recent days. New Zealand Police and Vodaphone advice is
to ignore the hoax.
