NZ Herald Online - We're One! http://www.nzherald.co.nz
The team at the Herald Online is taking a few minutes away from the keyboards to celebrate today. It's our first birthday, and we've got a lot to be happy about.
Thanks to your support, the Herald Online has grown rapidly, enabling us to bring you deeper and broader news coverage. We were honoured to be named "Site of the Year" by Netguide magazine at the 1999 awards, as well as winning Best Sports Site - www.rugbyheaven.co.nz Best Financial Site - Highly Commended www.stockwatch.co.nz Best Employment Site - Highly Commended www.netclassifieds.co.nz. Of course, we're privileged to have the reporters and editors of New Zealand's leading newspaper to draw upon. What's more, we are now introducing breaking news throughout the day. Not only will you get New Zealand's best news coverage, you'll get the news first from the NZ Herald Online.
Not to be missed are the new traffic and national & international weather reports on the site, constantly updated throughout the day, keeping you up to speed with which route to take and whether you'll need your umbrella.
In our second year we look forward to bringing you more new services - some of which probably haven't even been invented yet. Technology moves quickly, and we aim to keep up with it.
Wilson & Horton Interactive were established in October 1998 to centrally co-ordinate online strategy and development for the Wilson & Horton Group's online initiatives.
Kostia Shinderman, Operations Manager for the New Media division, said the future for the Herald Online looks bright.
"I believe that Wilson & Horton's traditional assets are suited perfectly for the web," he said. "It's great to see the marketplace recognising the web as an extension to the traditional media mix. We have such a vast resource of information to work with, and we're looking forward to moulding this content into a new dynamic medium."
