Telecom’s Jeff White Heads Home After 7 Years

Published: Tue 29 Feb 2000 10:50 AM
Telecom Chief Executive Theresa Gattung today advised that Chief Financial Officer Jeff White was leaving Telecom for family reasons at the end of March to head back to the United States.
“I wish Jeff all the very best for the future. He has made an enormous contribution to Telecom both professionally and personally and he will be missed.”
Ms Gattung said Mr White had led a number of highly successful projects within Telecom including the Performance 2000 cost-saving initiatives, the early days of Xtra and the AAPT investment.
Mr White joined Telecom in 1993 initially on a two-year secondment from Ameritech.
“I’ve loved New Zealand and really enjoyed my time at Telecom,” Mr White said. “I’m convinced Telecom has a bright and exciting future. However my wife and I believe it is the right time to return home to our family and friends.”
Ms Gattung said that Telecom was in the process of undertaking a search for a new Chief Financial Officer, and that an announcement would be made shortly.
