A call to your nearest Beaurepaires, Goodyear Auto Service Centre or Frank Allen Tyres Store should yield the correct
details.
They have just installed New Zealand Tyre Match, a powerful new database developed over the past twelve months by South
Pacific Tyres NZ Ltd.
The huge range of used imported Japanese cars had made specifying the correct tyres a minefield, product development
manager Bill Prebble said.
"Fitting the correct tyre is very important to the handling and safety of any car or recreational vehicle.
"Matching tyres is critical on 4WD recreational vehicles as different diameter tyres either side to side or front and
back can create mechanical problems when the vehicle is operated in four wheel drive.
"All our retail stores are on line to a database that covers the last six years of Japanese vehicle production and
includes the original equipment fitment, the overall diameter of the OE tyres when new and specifies tyres of similar
overall diameter suitable for replacement.
"We now have over 8000 different Japanese models listed. In addition we have data for all vehicles manufactured in New
Zealand over the past 15 years and list data for product imported from other countries too.
"The New Zealand Tyre Match database is now live on the computer at every one of our retail outlets. It's a tremendous
tool for our forecourt staff and motorists can feel re-assured that the correct tyres are being fitted to their
vehicle."
