The AMEX Cup Village is certainly New Zealand's fastest growing tourist destination point in terms of visitor numbers. On Sunday the perfect weather conditions resulted in just over 42, 000 visitors.
The week just gone resulted in a record 141,544 people coming through the AMEX Cup Village and enjoying the many facilities and public entertainment.
This means that just in the last two weeks alone close to 240,000 people have been to the AMEX Cup Village.
For October so far we have had 424,738 people walk through our entry points.
PR Manager Sue Foley said," We are thrilled that so many people are aware of our existence and are enjoying Auckland's newly rejuvenated waterfront.
We appreciate that the challenge is to ensure people return more than once and we are optimistic that the excellent daily entertainment programme put together by Greg Lay and
his team will see us achieve this.
Also although the Village Pavilion in the Old City Markets building is now open and is enjoying good patronage with many compliments coming back to staff about the wide range of food available in the food hall area and the retail shops.
