Auckland City has a new Link bus service, the City-Village Link between Wellesley Street and the American Express New Zealand Cup Village at Viaduct Harbour. The new free bus service will run every 10 minutes between 10am and 7pm, every day (except Christmas Day) from now until the end of the America's Cup racing in March next year.
It uses two double-decker buses that are subsidised by the Heart of the City Association, Auckland City, Auckland Regional Council, the Village and Stagecoach. The route is from the corner of Queen and Wellesley Streets, down Queen Street, left into Customs Street, right into lower Albert Street and to Viaduct Harbour via Quay Street and lower Hobson Street. The buses will complete the loop by returning to the corner of Queen and Wellesley Streets via Hobson Street.
