IT'S GOING TO BE SUNNY. That's the long range forecast for Sunday October 10th, which is the AMEX Cup Village Open Day.
The day is totally FREE and this includes a one-hour concert from New Zealand music icon Tim Finn. The host for the day
is Oliver Driver from Shortland Street who starts off the action on the main stage off Waitemata Plaza at 11a.m.
The Village Pavilion is well on the way to being complete, already the food-hall is up and running and by this weekend a
number of the retail outlets will also be in operation. The Village Pavilion is the perfect place to relax, complete
your early Xmas shopping and then sit down and eat as much as you can manage from the wide range of international
cuisine available. all under the same roof.
Congratulations Auckland you have done us proud. That's the message coming through very loud and clear to PR Manager Sue
Foley as she travelled through the North island this week appearing on a number of radio stations as far apart as
Wellington to Tauranga. The aim of the AMEX Cup Village was to create something all of New Zealand could feel good
about, and Ms Foley says going by the comments received so far this has been achieved. Ms Foley says the mood of the
country towards the America's Cup Regatta is extremely positive
IT'S ALL GETTING CLOSER. The Welcome Parade involving all syndicates happens on Friday 15th October going down Queen
Street, Auckland and the starting time is 5pm.
