International Pianist Showcases in Manukau

Chopin, Beethoven and Schumann are coming to Manukau through internationally reknown pianist Marcus McLaren.
Born in Wellington, Marcus began his piano studies in Dunedin then moved to Austria where he studied at the Haydn Konservatorium and the Vienna Academy of Music.
His impressive resume has seen him travel the world performing in several European countries including Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Denmark as well as Japan.
He has performed as a concerto soloist with several orchestras including the Auckland Philharmonia, the Christchurch Symphony, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Voronezh Symphony (Russia) and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic (USA).
Marcus’ playing is also included in a CD entitled “Joseph Haydn: Piano Music” and as an accompanist on “Waldesstimmen”. He has also published a book, “Memoirs from Russia”, which documents his concert performances throughout Russia, Latvia and the Ukraine.
Marcus is performing two shows in Manukau, at the Manurewa Community Arts Centre on August 22 at 2pm.
