Grisly Find For APEC Soldiers

Published: Thu 12 Aug 1999 08:58 PM
Army personnel training for next month’s APEC leaders meeting came across a grisly find today.
The body of a decomposed woman was discovered in Auckland domain. Police believe it is the body of a woman reported missing over one year ago.
The area was one of the most remote within the Domain, which is a popular venue for Aucklanders on weekend hikes, picnics and recreation. The more solitary pockets within the domain are also often frequented by the city’s homeless and destitute.
A police investigation is ensuing.
