The victims of the triple homicide discovered at 7:15am yesterday in Totara Heights Manukau City were beaten about the
head and stabbed.
Detective Sergeant Neil Grimstone says postmortem examinations carried out on the bodies of Angela Han, a 33 year old
Korean woman, her five year old son Nicholas, and two year old daughter Christina, showed heavy head injuries and
lacerations about the neck and stab wounds had likely caused the deaths.
Police forensic experts had removed a number of weapons from the house for further inspection. They believe at least two
weapons were involved.
The bodies were discovered in the bedroom of the Manukau house yesterday morning.
The woman’s husband, former BNZ mortgage manager Robert Han, aged 35 years, was also found suffering abdominal injuries
and is currently recovering from surgery at Middlemore Hospital.
A lawyer acting for Mr Han has refused police access to him while he recovers from his injuries and surgery in hospital.
Detective Sergeant Grimstone says police attempted to interview Mr Han this morning but access was denied.
Investigations include inquiries surrounding the families financial problems. Mr Han had worked as a mobile manager for
the BNZ bank, then left in 1997 to run a Newmarket cafe with his sister. He recently was employed with Apple Computers.
