Auckland Jury Finds Federici Murdered His Wife

A jury in the Auckland High Court has found John Federici guilty of murdering his wife.
Federici has been convicted for strangling his wife to death and disposing of her body in a green wheelie bin.
The Court had heard how Federici and his wife were having marriage problems. The jury found that the Australian born Federici had killed his wife in her Onehunga home and then considered how to dispose of her body.
The Crown said Federici drove around the North Island with her body dismembered in the wheelie bin. One of the couple’s children was in the vehicle with him as he planned on disposing of her remains.
The jury took four hours to reach its verdict. Justice Dame Sylvia Cartwright sentenced Federici to life imprisonment.
