Push Play Programme Supported

Auckland City is being urged to get behind the Push Play fitness programme. This was launched in May by the Hillary Commission and is supported by a number of organisations including the Health Funding Authority, YMCA and Agency for Nutrition Action.
The campaign encourages inactive people off the sofa and into healthier, active lives by raising awareness about the benefits of regular moderate physical activity and how easy it is to become active.
The Parks and Recreation Committee is supportive of the concept, which chairperson Cr Phil Raffills says is consistent with the council's Leisure Policy and enhances it current activities in the area of sport and physical activity.
