Newstalk ZB Headlines - 11am
Computer Porn in School - A computer technician has been suspended from a Waikato school for allegedly using a school computer to download pornography. Raglan Area School sent a letter out to parents last night assuring them students did not have access to what it calls inappropriate material. The letter says the school shut down all its internet services as soon as it was discovered the worker may have been downloading the material. Police are investigating but are making no further comment at this stage.
Get Away Vehicle Recovered - Police have recovered what is believed to be the get-away vehicle used by the robber who shot an Armourguard security officer at a west Auckland mall. The officer was shot during a struggle with a masked gunman at Waitakere Plaza yesterday afternoon. Police say the gunman then made off in a black Honda Civic driven by another man. The car was recovered late last night near Waitakere Plaza where the incident took place. Forensic tests are being carried out today. The injured security guard is recovering in hospital.
Heavy Snow Warning - A heavy snow warning is in place for Banks Peninsula and north Canterbury. Another 10 centimetres of snow is expected above 400 metres and lesser falls down to sea level this afternoon. Further snow showers are expected in the central North Island. The cold front covers most of the country with Christchurch bearing the brunt of its force. Many South Island roads are closed as is the North Island’s Desert Road.
