Tax cuts will not save the National Government, according to the Trade Union. It believes voters wont be bought by the
Party’s promises of tax exchanges which will see middle income earners receive up to $10 a week more in their pockets.
The CTU says New Zealanders are fed up with policies that do not work. It says $10 a week more means little when people
are forced to pay for things the government no longer covers.
But if the tax cuts can’t save National maybe the All Blacks can. Jenny Shipley has confirmed the election will be held
sometime in November. The Rugby World Cup will be held on November 7. A winning performance by the All Blacks could be
vital to National’s chance of winning. National strategists are praying for an All Black win, because it is a public
mood and confidence issue. If the All Blacks lose a lot of people will be in a filthy mood. An election is expected on
November 13th or 20th.
